    Fine Art as Hardware

Martin Pierce Inc. designs and manufactures original art hardware. They offer a complete range of decorative door and cabinet hardware which is cast in silicon bronze or stainless steel using the lost wax method of casting. The Ergo style, shown here, is named for its ergonomic design, and the manufacturer has left and right versions of their door levers and entry way handles. There are five styles. All are organic, but the styles vary from floral to textural to nature-inspired themes. The Ergo series is available in a polished or brushed stainless steel. The bronze collections are offered in cold and hot patinas.

    Structural Radiant Subfloor

Warmboard® radiant-heat subfloor combines a structural subfloor and a radiant panel into one component for radiant heating systems. A modular pattern of channels is cut into the top surface of a high-strength tongue-and-groove plywood sheet. A thick sheet of aluminum is then permanently bonded to each panel, providing a highly conductive surface. Low thermal mass ensures faster heating. Most framing details and structural considerations are identical to structures built without radiant heating. The panels can be glued, screwed, or nailed to the floor joists. Labor costs comparable to the installation of a standard subfloor. Panels can be cut with a standard circular saw with a carbide blade.

    Building-Integrated Photovoltaic Laminates

EnergyPeak™ offers building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) laminate technology for standing-seam metal roofs. The UNI-SOLAR PV laminates are lighter weight than their polycrystalline counterparts and more efficient in low-light conditions, as well as being strong enough to be walked on and flexible enough for curved standing-seam applications. BIPV laminates can be applied to panels at the roofing manufacturer's plant to reduce installation costs. Architects can specify any of several pre-designed systems, ranging from three kilowatts to 129 kilowatts, which include AutoCAD® drawings and part numbers for electrical drawings. A new return-on-investment (ROI) calculator is available. The laminates come with a 20-year warranty.

    Electronically Tintable Architectural Glass

SAGE Electrochromics, Inc. offers electronically tintable glass, allowing users to darken windows for visual and thermal comfort. In the tinted state, SageGlass® products block 91 percent of solar energy penetration, providing control of daylight, heat gain, and glare, while maintaining views to the outdoors. Operation of the dynamically tintable windows, skylights, and curtain walls consumes minimal power. The glass products are GreenSpec®-listed as environmentally preferable building products, and may also contribute to LEED certification in the credit areas of optimized energy performance, measurement and verification, ventilation effectiveness, controllability of systems, thermal comfort, daylight and views, and innovation in design.

Natural Stone Finish for Metal Panel Systems

MeTecno USA's foam-insulated and single-element metal wall and roof panels are now available in the Granitstone® Quartz finish. Designed to complement the existing Granitstone line of lightweight metal panels, which are finished to mimic sprayed stucco, the new finish is composed of natural multicolored quartz aggregates with a clear acrylic binder. The panels are easy to install as high-rib sheeting, and are designed for use with light-gauge grits, steel stud, or tube steel wall systems. Five colors are available: Cascade Sand, Teton Gray, Monterey Gold, Foxwood Beige, and Dakota Bronze.
